Restaurant Honors Michigan State University Athletes
The Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe is ideal for just gathering or dining after a Michigan State University athletic event. After attending a sporting event at Michigan State University, consider stopping by the Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe. Not only is the food delicious, but the ambiance is celebratory of Spartan athletes past and present.
The restaurant is conveniently located off of US-127 and about a ten minute drive from the MSU campus. It is also convenient to numerous hotels and shopping centers including the Courtyard by Marriott East Lansing and the Eastwood Towne Center. The Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe is open daily for both lunch and dinner, and until midnight each day (except Sunday). Although it is often referred to as somewhat of a steakhouse, the menu is actually quite diverse.
Lighter Meals
For those late nights after the game, one can choose from a variety of appetizers such as firecracker chicken (chicken tenders with a kick), lettuce wraps or steak cut onion rings. Those looking for something a little more substantive might opt for one of the cafe’s many salads. Some choices include the Hall of Fame salad (made with bacon, blue cheese, pecans, strawberries and a sweet and sour dressing) or the steakhouse filet salad (featuring filet mignon strips, potato straws and white cabbage). The cafe also offers an assortment of sandwiches and soups.
More Hardy Meals
Many patrons visiting the cafe come for a complete meal. Whether lunch or dinner, the Hall of Fame cafe does not disappoint. Some choices on the menu include the cafe’s barbecue baby back ribs, bourbon chicken or ribeye steak dinner. Several pasta dishes as well as scrumptious pizzas are also popular menu items.
Alcoholic Drinks
Similar to that of a sports bistro, the Hall of Fame Cafe offers a full service bar. Their drink menu includes a variety of mixed cocktails, margaritas, martinis, wines and beers. One can also purchase non-alcoholic drinks such as flavored ice teas, lemonades and smoothies.
Desserts
After dinner one can choose from a few dessert choices such as a New York style cheesecake or a giant cookie topped with vanilla ice cream.
Spartan fans visiting the Hall of Fame Cafe will also appreciate their collection of sports memorabilia. The collection is made up of jerseys, photos, helmets and other collectibles from an array of sports including basketball, football, hockey, golf and gymnastics. There is also a Spartan gift shop on site.
As with many sports bars there are numerous flat screen televisions throughout the facility. Unique however are the few televisions located in the dining booths. These televisions allow patrons to control what events or shows they will watch in their booth.
