The Ypsilanti Heritage Festival is a celebration of the rich history of the area. The three day event is free to everyone and is a family friendly event. It features historic tours; Living History activities and Blanket Traders, arts and crafts, stage entertainment, Children’s Village, Petting Farm and the always popular Rubber Duck Race, the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival truly has something for everyone. Parades, contests and delicious food are just some of the surprises that await you and your family.

There are softball games, a parade through downtown with 50+ unites for you to enjoy. Then go on to the Antique Road Show at Depot Town and have your antique treasures appraised by an expert. Stop i at the Butterfly House and watch the beautiful butterflies, maybe one will even land on you!

General Motors has a hospitality tent for you to visit and see the auto exhibit. It’s always fun to see what they have to showcase!

How are you about eating contests? There is a hot dog eating contest that you can enter which should certainly bring some gastric indigestion to a number of participants. Cheer on the one that you think should win.

There is also the Rubber Duck Race and Raffle for you to participate in. Cheer on the one you want to win and perhaps you will come away with something from the raffle too.

You will have a chance to see vintage cars manufactured by General Motors. This is always a great event since many can remember when the vintage cars where new and those that are too young can hardly believe the differences in the cars from then and now.

There are games, contests and more for you to enjoy at the festival. Do you have a baby? Maybe you want to enter it into the Beautiful Baby Contest. How about Bingo, feel lucky? Test your skill with others while playing chess or checkers. Enter the Bed Race, they are always fun! Watch a baseball game and enter your pet in the Precious Pet Contest.

There is so much to do that you will want to stay in the area for all three days and just enjoy the town celebrating it’s heritage.
